Honouring Your Whole Self: My Podcast Appearance on Happy on Purpose

Somatic Counselling in Vernon, British Columbia | Okanagan Valley
A conversation about how change becomes real when we stop trying to fix ourselves and start listening to our body.
Counselling That Honours Your Whole Self
I recently had the joy of sitting down with Jeunesse Pearson on the Happy on Purpose podcast to explore what happens when you’ve outgrown the scripts—you’ve done the therapy, the self-help, the high-functioning life—but something inside still feels disconnected or restless. We talked about the kind of support that invites you back into relationship with your own experience, rather than pushing you to improve or perform.
Working With Your Body, Not Against It
Instead of trying to “fix what’s broken,” I shared how somatic counselling helps you slow down enough to actually hear the intelligence of your body. We talked about listening to sensation, working with tension instead of against it, and why I chose the word counselling over therapy—because this is not about performing healing or meeting expectations. It’s about becoming more real, rooted, and on purpose.
Why Slowing Down Changes Everything
One theme that came up again and again? People shift when they stop striving and start letting their body speak. Not by pushing harder, but by noticing what’s true now.
A Nourishing Conversation for Mid-Life
If you’re in mid-life, thoughtful, aware, and still searching for something more grounded and genuine, this conversation may be a nourishing place to land.
